On Sunday morning we installed the second gear on the tender truck shaft. We were very sure to install the two bronze spacer washers that Christy machined Saturday. These washers act as spacers to limit the end-play of the gear shaft to 1/4 inch. To have forgotten to put these on would have been a huge failure.
