The stop has been positioned 7 3/8 inches from the end of the shaft, and is ready to keep the HEATED gear from slipping too far onto the shaft when it is very HOT. Remember, there are no second chances in this gear application process! Great care was taken to ensure that the machined faces of the ring were flush with one another.
