The Old Cass Shop Complex (burned in 1972)

The Cass shop complex was a massive facility that was able to reproduce or repair almost any part of a Shay locomotive. The shop was transferred, along with many of its employees, to the State after the lumber operation ceased in 1960.

Unfortunately, the shop complex burned to the ground in 1972 and a lot of patterns and machinery burned with it. The current shop complex is a mere shadow of the old shop, but it allows the current generation of Cass employees to keep the Park's stable of geared locomotives running.
