Rob forging over the ends of the safety stirrup for catching the brake rods, should a pin come out of the dead lever. Bending the ends over takes a lot of load off the bolts in case of this stirrup ever being used. The two-inch rod Rob is working around is NOT the truck gear shaft, but alignment shaft we rigged up with centralizers so the gears could be hung, on their proper centers, to determine their hub-to-hub mounting distance....once the gears are sweated into place, there is no chance of adjusting them, short of making a new shaft.
